{lessons}

-I can ignore the pile of smooshed Corn Flakes on my family room floor. Those who know my OCD tendencies, and the love I have for my vacuum, realize the self-control it takes to do this. Admittedly, I threw a blanket on top of them, and faced the other direction, but still, I am quite proud.

-Obviously I have been either sick or out of commission for a really long time, because my girls have LOVED going from house to house everyday.

-Chicken nuggets, frozen pizza, fish sticks, and anything else out of a box have plenty of nutrition. Really. Okay, so 2 weeks won't kill them, right?

-Moms have bat ears. We can hear things, especially when the ability to get up and check things out is taken away.

-Laundry really does multiply. Sometimes within minutes.

-There is nothing on daytime tv. Thank goodness for DVR, and lots of great movies!

-I can be happy for bad weather. Having to sit through a beautiful day after a long winter is like torture!

-I have an awesome husband--one who doesn't complain when his weekend consists of cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, and taking the kids everywhere. (hmmm...that sounds familiar :) )Doing it alone is never easy, and I really appreciate his support.

-I have the best friends ever! I would NEVER be able to make it through without them opening their homes to my children, offering meals, or just calling to check on me. I am a really, really, lucky girl.

What a beautiful woman you are! I am so glad that you are so well taken care of, by family and friends, (wish I were there to help) and that you can look past your discomfort in it all and be grateful. I hope you're not DVR'ing the birthing channel!! And holy wow on the cornflakes.....you go! Thanks for your kind comment on Lil, but you should know that I totally suck at playing the piano. I have a very basic and limited ability. You on the other hand..... I miss listening to you play and singing together. :)

Although you've learned some great lessons I REALLY hope you only have 1 more week of this! It's killing me ;)

And the corn flake thing...I'm not so sure I believe it :) I will gladly come vacuum for you if you really can't stand it any longer!!!

Oh how I can relate to your list. It was one year ago that I was making nice with my couch. Man I don't envy you. I remember praying it would snow so that I didn't have to see the sun. Everyone was posting how they wished spring would come and I just thought to myself "Ha, I guess it is my prayer that is being heard". The corn flakes killed me. Mine was always fruit loops. Ellie was drawn to them as soon as i hit the couch. She would come and pull my hand and say Nooooooooo Mooooooooommmmmmmmy. I know it was hard on her but it was so worth it. Good luck and if I see a good movie I will let you know. I wish that I could come and help you. Keep you chin up!

I feel your pain! It was SO hard not to do dishes, clean, fold laundry, etc. when my wrists were in pain. Know that this isn't going to be for forever, even though sometimes it feels like forever.

You made me laugh. My mother told me that I was mentally ill the other day over my tendency to sweet floor once to twice a day. I told her no I am not, but good for you for looking the other way. In the grand sceam of things the babies are way more important than having a house that looks like it is a magazine cover. Hang in there. You can do it.

I don't know how you looked the other way with the corn flakes. I would have cheated for just a second and vacuumed them up because it would have made me nuts! But you are such a good mommy to do what is best for those little bundles in your tummy. I hope you are back on your feet soon!

I am so glad you have so much support. Husbands who help during pregnancies are wonderful. (I spent a couple of months in the hospital due to dehydration with my last and my hubby had a lot of work to do--it was so appreciated)

I hope you are feeling better. Hugs

I'm sorry, but the blanket over the flakes made me stare in disbelief at my computer screen. For a second (we just got back from CA) I forgot you were on bedrest, but now it's all very clear. I'm so proud of you and amazed at you. And boxed food for that long... I always hoped it would be overlooked by the health police, and the nutrition in them was the only thing I could focus on. I hope you're on your feet again soon. =)
