{a rainy biking adventure}

We live just about a mile from our cute historic downtown, and just about a half mile away is a yummy ice cream drive-in. Yes, very dangerous for someone like me that loves ice cream, and whose kids beg to go there on a daily basis!

The other night we decided to ride our bikes to get ice cream (burn a few of those calories off!). The sky was a little dark, but rain hadn't been forecasted, so we went anyway.

Ha.

We finished our ice cream, and started to feel little drops. Nothing too menacing, and the kids were still begging to ride their bikes a little farther. Something about the way the sky looked just didn't seem right, so we started riding home, with promises to play outside when we got there.

Within minutes, sprinkles turned into an absolute downpour. The baby was cozy and dry in the bike trailer, but the rest of us were getting soaked. We got plenty of stares from passers-by. I'm sure we were quite the sight ...seven bikes and a bike trailer, all lined up in single file, in pouring rain.

We were laughing so hard! It was one of those ordinary moments that became extraordinary.
