This week has been one of those where a lot has been going on--but not really. Does that even make sense? I have a few minutes before the babies go down for their nap, and I'm taking a small break in between loads of laundry. Perfect timing for blogging, right?
-Ever since I started blogging (I can't believe it's been 2 years!), I intended it to be my journal--a way to document our daily life through words and pictures--and so that my family and friends that live far away had a way to keep connected to us. It has kind of morphed since then, including "meeting" people I would never have met any other way, and sharing and gaining thoughts and ideas on a variety of subjects. I have loved every minute of it.
About a year ago, when I realized that I was just not going to have time to do digital scrapbooking (or any other kind--even though I really enjoyed it) I started thinking about publishing my blog into a book, so that my children would be able to look at and read about their life through my eyes, and also to know me--what I was thinking and feeling as I raised them. Now that I have finally decided to go ahead and do it, I have found myself wanting to blog about the very basic things in my life--those true day-to-day items that may seem insignificant now, but will someday give my children a glimpse into their childhood, and fill out their memories. So, if you are a reader, I hope you will understand when I talk about seemingly mundane and trivial items, because one day, they will be treasured.
-Can I TELL YOU HOW MUCH I CANNOT WAIT FOR SPRING? The weather has been teasing us unmercifully the last week, with record high temperatures, a light breeze, birds chirping, and that ever-lovely smell. You know...the one that's so yummy, but you can't quite explain? It doesn't seem to do it justice to call it an "outside smell", because it's fresh, and clean, and wonderful! My windows are open, the heat is turned off, and I'm reveling in the beautiful weather. Even laundry doesn't seem so bad today!
-I'm gearing up for a big weekend, and I'm really looking forward to it. Our church is having a women's retreat tomorrow night through Saturday morning, and it's being held at my house (hence all the laundry--gotta wash all the sheets and towels!). Rick is taking the kids to a hotel, and they will be able to live it up swimming and walking across the street to the pizza place to eat dinner. I just can't wait to have an evening with good friends, good food, and pure relaxation...while wearing my pajamas. I really can't think of anything better than that!
And just because...

Have a fun weekend!
So well put. The weather has been such a joy. And yes I think blogs are a great way for a busy mom to journal. I made a book of mine and the kids love to look through it. I can't wait for friday :)
pray the weather stays. please. i can't bear the thought of it possibly snowing again.
and friday - YAY! I'm so excited - jammies and girl talk all night - can't wait :)
I am so excited for spring also! It's my favorite time of year! This week has warmed up a little and I'm so happy I've been able to take Brooklin in her stroller for walks! I love it! It's so nice to be out!
I love that you keep up on your blog! Even though Greg has not been able to meet you guys yet it's nice to get on your blog and show him who you guys are! I need to do better at keeping mine up.
Have a fun "girls night". Hope Rick has fun with the kids! What a nice break for you! :)
I seriously think you have the cutest little girls I have ever seen! I can only hope my sweet girls with be as adorable as yours at that age :) They have such cute smiles, perfect little faces, and adorable little hairdo's!
I think making a book out of your blog is VERY SMART.
I understand writing about the things you are doing--we'd like to think we remember everything, but we don't.
Have a fun weekend.
I can't wait for Spring. I start my 10K class next week, and I just know it will snow again before Spring actually comes, but I can still home, can't I ; )
Those of us who love you so much will love hearing the details. =) And Spring is teasing us, too... melt the snow, birds chirping, no coats, then BAM. A foot of snow. Then melt & warm, then rain+snow. Warm came through, but yesterday evening a cold wind blew in. Jackets back on!
If I start driving now, I might make it to your pj party!!!! Man I miss those days!!!!!!!
I'm glad you blog too!
I enjoy reading your blog, you have a way with words. The retreat sounds soo fun, sorry I'm not in Midland anymore so I could come.
My sis had her blog printed into a book and it is awesome!! Cute picture of your boys. Love the jammies!!
I just heard you can put them into books - what a great idea! Your blog will make a wonderful journal - you have always been so good with words (you were the talker - I was the listener :)! I'm afraid mine will merely be a slightly glorified picture album - oh well! I love keeping up with your blog - it's been too many years!
