I can't believe I've only had two posts this month--it's the longest space between posts I've had since I started blogging. Life has been especially busy--I know I always say that, but it's felt different lately. So, to get us caught up, here's a little synopsis of the past month...
{After leaving my sister's house the end of February, they came here to watch our kids while I joined Rick on a business trip to Houston. It was only for a few days, but it was wonderful. YUMMY food, a quiet hotel room where I could watch whatever I wanted, working out in the middle of the morning, and warm weather--it was the best!}
{We are busy building beds...three of them! We finally got to the stack of wood pallets I found a couple months ago, and we're almost finished with a new bed for us, using the pallets as the headboard and footboard. I already have the new bedding--it's going to be a totally different look! The girls' beds are also in progress, and we're using shutters for the headboard and footboard. I'm getting antsy to have them done--but that's no surprise, lol.}
{I cleaned out every closet in our house this past weekend, and I can't stop looking at them. :) Every time I walk by Rick's closet I have to open it and look, lol. Don't you love that feeling? I go through Ryan's room every couple of months and "de-junk", but this was a major overhaul of both his and Rick's especially. Lots of stuff to Salvation Army, and I'm feeling great!}
{I got another ticket. For speeding. I swear they have me on some kind of "watch" list, lol. They were both for 10 and under, but still...}
{Jack refuses to go to bed at night. Doesn't matter if he has a nap or not, he's just put his foot down, and that's all there is to it. I think I have to put him back in bed at least 42 times each night before he finally gives in. How much longer do you think I'm going to have to keep this up?}
{Ryan is working on all the paperwork for his Eagle Scout project, and it's officially on the calendar! If all goes well, he will be an Eagle Scout in June, as soon as he meets the 6 month wait since his last advancement. It's the earliest you can get your Eagle, and he's worked really hard to accomplish it. The paperwork is quite consuming, and the last few weeks have been filled with lots of planning.}
{Henry loves to eat. Plain and simple. I don't think we are going to be able to afford him when he becomes a teenager, if his appetite gets any bigger! Although I have to say it is nice to have at least one child that will eat whatever I make. :) }
{I love that my girls are reading! It's so exciting to see them progress, and I have so many books I want to share with them. I developed a love for books very early on, and it's always been my hope that my children will as well. I love YA literature, and Ryan and I are reading many of the same books. I LOVE discussing those books, talking about where we are in the books, and trying to figure out what's going to happen--it's one of my favorite things.}
{The weather has been absolutely incredible. Literally. To have so many days in the 70's and 80's is unreal, and we have been spending every possible moment outside in the yard or at the park. There simply is nothing better than opening all the windows, and feeling the sunshine both inside and out. We're totally spoiled now, and the 50's are feeling cold, lol. My kids would live outside if I let them, and many days that's about how much we are taking advantage of it.}
{One of my good friends turned 40 this past weekend, and I was able to help her husband gave her the surprise of her life. It was so fun to see her walk in and see all of her siblings and parents standing there, yelling "surprise", then celebrating with her over the weekend. SO fun!}

{Oh, and since no post is complete without a picture, here are my girls all dressed up for school a couple of weeks ago. They were THRILLED to be able to wear their princess dresses, even on the bus. Kate and her friend Gabi made a plan to dress exactly alike, and they did...right down to the leggings and bows on their shoes.}
I know there's more, but that's all I can think of for now. Plus Jack just got out of his bed (surprise, surprise), and I need to go and put him back in. Again. *sigh*

Sorry about the speeding ticket. That totally sucks! At least you don't live in Switzerland where when you get a third ticket the fee is 30% of your income. No joke! I can't believe Ryan is that close to getting his Eagle. I think it will be another year or two before Harris gets his. We aren't in a rush. He just has two many things going on to do all the work necessary to get his Eagle. His homework being one of them. When we moved to this new school district the homework increased by ten fold.
Sounds like a busy but fun month!!!! Your girls are beautiful and I can't get over how much they have grown up! So cute. I have been remiss in my blogging- just posted and realized I've done about two this year!!!! So, you are are doing well!!!!! Looking forward to seeing posts about the beds when they are complete!!!!
WOW--HOW IN THE WORLD DO YOU DO IT ALL!!!!!!! I love to clean out a closet, too. It feels so good.
Can't wait to see pictures of the new beds.
I laughed when I read about the speeding tickets because I thought it said "both were for going 10 under the speed limit" ; )
The girls look so cute.
And CONGRATULATIONS TO RYAN. What an accomplishment.
So, Im curious, where did you and Rick go? I can't believe Ryan is even old enough to get his eagle. That is awesome. I can't wait to see pics of those beds. You are so creative.
I'm sitting here contemplating whether or not to comment; I might get mother of the year award and I don't want to make anyone else feel bad (chuckle). Brooke used to get out of bed and we finally told her that a "creepy alligator" lived under her bed and if she got out it would get her. Yeah, I know....ingenious, right?!? When that stopped working, we had to resort to the tooth fairy. She was scared to death of the tooth fairy and told her SHE would get her if she didn't stay in bed. Yep; it worked and Brooke is now in college, on scholarship, and well adjusted. It totally worked. GOOD LUCK! =)
