{a merry trip to the fire station}

You may not know this, but Henry is OBSESSED with fire trucks.  He has been since he was tiny, and it still makes his little heart leap for joy whenever we happen to pass one on the road, or one parked in front of a fire station.  He wants to be a firefighter when he grows up, and wants to have a fire dog.

So...as we made a list of service we could do this holiday season, it was a natural decision to do something for our nearest fire station.  We made treats, wrote a thank you letter, and went over one night after dinner.

We rang the doorbell, and I have to admit, the little sign above the phone made us a little nervous...it said that 911 would be called if they didn't answer within 20 seconds! Fortunately they did answer, and when we told them we had treats, I think it was only about 10 seconds before they answered the door!

They welcomed us in, and gave the kids the royal treatment. Their letter went up on the kitchen fridge, and they got the whole fire station to themselves to explore! It was a pretty exciting night all around!
