I only had Emma with me at the store the other day, and when we were checking out, the cashier made the comment that she looked a lot like me. I thanked her, but had to laugh to myself. The same thing happened the last time I had Kate with me, and it is a common occurrence with Ryan as well. It's especially interesting with the girls though, because they look so different. How can two totally different girls both look like me? But they do, in their own way.
Genetics are utterly fascinating to me, and they became even more so after we had kids.
Somehow a couple with brown eyes and blue eyes had three green-eyed children, with two out of three having red hair. It's all there, in our ancestry, and maybe that's partly why I find it so interesting. All these people I've never met, but connected to, have influenced my child--what they look like, how tall they are, and perhaps even how they walk.

This is a picture of me, at 2, pretty close to the age the girls are now (gotta love the late 70's!). So, what do you think? More like Emma? Kate? Ryan? Or just a healthy resemblance to all of them?

I think they all look more like you too. The same thing happens to me too and I've thought the same thing.
Love the picture! While all the children look more like you than Rick, Kate looks the most like you. Same nose and smile. All Gorgeous children just like their parents.
I would have thousands of children just to see what they would look like!!! I'm fascinated by genetics! I never noticed how all your kids really do look like you! I think it's that adorable nose...they all have it!! I'm sure if you dug out pictures of Rick...we might see something of a resemblence :)!!!
That is such an adorable picture--and yes, as I look at the pictures of your kids, I'd have to say they all look like you. Love the comment about ancestors. I've been doing my genealogy and wonder who way back then have passed down some of these traits to me and my children. It's going to be fun one day to meet them all.
They all look a lot a like. I have always thought that Ryan looked just like you. I will have to say though that the pic you have of Kate on the side is almost identical. Emma as well but the smile is exactly the same with Kate.

I can't believe how cute you look. Don't you get a kick out of the style in the 70's. I always love looking back at the old pictures and wonder when those great styles will come back. hehe!
