{zoo boo}

I just love this time of year.  Even here in Texas, where it doesn't look or smell like fall, there are so many fun fall and Halloween things going on that it's still feeling like it could be.  ☺ This weekend was {Zoo Boo}, so we headed to the Houston Zoo for the day on Saturday.

I didn't really want them wearing their actual costumes all day at the zoo, so we raided the dress up trunk for costumes.  Jack was a construction worker, Henry a fireman, Emma an Indian Princess (she actually wore this costume as a dress when she was 2, and it still fits! It's much shorter, of course, but we threw on a pair of leggings and she was good to go!), and Kate a black cat.  Ryan didn't come--he was doing teenager stuff.  ☺

It was a perfect day--high 60's, sunny, with a slight breeze, and I really couldn't complain. Apparently everyone else thought so too, because it was pretty busy.  We made our way through the zoo to see all the animals, but also made pit stops at their fun "candy booths", activity & games stations, and mini pumpkin patch.  We loved seeing so many people in costume--all of the kids, and many of the adults too.

 Henry's favorite sign.  ☺

On our way home we stopped for dinner at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants, which, quite frankly, made the day perfect.  (In Jack language, it's "Pop-skitos", instead of Pappasitos.  Adorable.)
