{introducing...}

Our family has grown by two (apparently that's how our family works!) and no one is more surprised than I am!

Our dear friends moved to Utah, and needed a new home for their two bunnies. When they asked me about it, I was hesitant to say the least. I am so not an animal person, and it goes against every part of me to have a pet. In fact, some of you may be as shocked as I am. Almost.

However...I love these friends, and I not only wanted to help them, but my kids had been asking about a pet, and I thought this might be the answer.

After I talked to Rick about it, we knew how much fun the kids would have with them, and taking care of a pet can be a great lesson in responsibility. So...they officially moved in last night!

We took them out of their hutch for the first time today, and it was quite the adventure. Henry wanted to ride one of them, and Jack thought the other one was a ball and tried to kick it. I think we might need to have a few training sessions, lol. The girls and Ryan love to let them run around the yard. They really are cute, especially because they are Dwarf Himalayan rabbits, and are pretty little.

There is still some debate regarding their names, and hopefully we can settle on some soon.

So far the options are:

Cinnamon & Sugar
Peanut Butter & Jelly
Fluffy and Bunny
George Washington & Abraham Lincoln
Napoleon & Dynamite

(I'll let you guess who came up with what name, lol.)

So here's to all of our future bunny adventures---I'm sure there will be plenty!

YAY!! I actually love the names George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. Abe and George!! Haha. Whatever you decide, it'll be great. Did you just let them run loose in the yard??? You are brave!! I was always so afraid they would run away and never come back. Lol. Keep us posted on our little friends! I LOVE YOU!!

Oh, I'm jealous. We have been thinking about getting a few bunnies for the girls, but just haven't been pushed enough to take the plunge into pet ownership. I'm not letting my girls see this blog post :)

Cute names by the way.

How fun for your kids. I hope they take to the responsibility. LOL at Jack thinking the bunny was a ball ; )

I love all the names--think Napoleon and Dynamite would be quite cute.

The good thing is that they are outside pets and even though you will have to clean their cage the mess will stay outside. We got birds back in September and while I am glad we have them they make a huge mess with their seeds. They throw them all over the floor.

I had pet bunnies growing up! I loved them! One of ours was named Fuzzbucket! He was an easy animal to take care of as a child! I hope you have the same lucK!

Wow...yes, I am surprised. The Jack and Henry story cracked me up. I love the names cinnamon & sugar. I think our vote would be Napoleon & Dynamite. If they ever need to borrow our wig our moon boots just let us know :)

I really am shocked beyond belief! I think it's only because it's getting warm and they'll live outside that you actually agreed to it!

I'm sure that you'll keep a bottle of bleach tucked away in the corner of their pen for your cleaning pleasure!

And Steph - there is NO WAY vinyl lettering won't make it onto the pen - I'm surprised it's not painted and distresed already ;)

We love you too much - good luck - so glad it's you and not me!!!
